Karachi- Jinnah Sindh Medical University’s Research Society organized a Research Poster Competition, component of ENDYNAMO 3.0, under the banner of JSMU Student Council at JSMU’s premises.
The competition was open for students of SIOHS who presented posters on ‘Oral Hygiene status of children with Thalassemia at Kashif’s Thalassemia Centre, Karachi’ and ‘Prevalence of Dental Carries and Oral Hygiene Status with Down’s Syndrome at Ujala School Karachi.’ Both these researches and posters were prepared under the supervision of Dr. Marium Azfar, Head of Community and Preventive Dentistry.
The competition had two categories; Postgraduate and Undergraduate. During the competition, 30 posters were presented from Postgraduate category and 26 were from Undergraduate category.
The honorable judging panel consisted of Dr. Nazeer Ahmed, Dr. Mubeen, Dr. Ghazala Usman, Dr. Mehak and Dr. Zaeema Ahmed.
The students of Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM) also actively took part in the Student's Week held at JSMU.
The students mentioned as follows, won positions in various events held during the Student’s Week.
Apart from the research poster competition, Sports activities were also organized, where Boy’s Relay Team of AIDM grabbed the 3rd position, title distributed amongst; Zaid Ali, Usama Mengrani, Talha Khizri and Shayan Hemani
In the 200m race (Girls), 2nd position was won by Hoorain Munaf from AIDM.
During the Chess game, the runner up title was given to Hamza Aziz, and Parliamentary debate’s 1st prize was awarded to the team of AIDM, led by students, Anas, Aysha Khalid
and Areeba Laghari.
