PMDC Instructs Medical Colleges Not To ‘Sell’ Seats to Students

Islamabad- Private medical and dental colleges have been instructed by the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) not to give out seats to MBBS and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) students for amounts ranging from Rs 2,000,000 to 3,000,000.


This recent approval by the central admission policy 2018 for MBBS, BDS admission by PMDC executive committee has put an end to era of donations and out of merit admission in MBBS and BDS programmes at private medical colleges.


Young Doctors Association Pakistan Secretary Dr Salman Kazmi and others appreciated the Chief Justice Supreme Court of Pakistan for personally taking up the matter of private medical colleges and ensuring that from this year, all admissions will be done on merit and no medical colleges will be able to “sell” seats in the aforementioned amount in the name of donation across the country.
