HYDERABAD: The Department of Orthodontics at Isra Dental College & Hospital, Hyderabad, collaborated with ClearPath to organise the first one-day workshop titled "Fast-track Clear Aligner System."
Prof Dr Nazir Ashraf Laghari, the Vice Chancellor of Isra University, was the chief guest, while Prof Dr Abdul Sattar Memon, Chief Executive Director of the varsity, was guest of honour.
Other notable attendees included Prof Dr Feroz Memon, Vice Chancellor of the University of Modern Sciences, Prof Dr Shafi Jatoi, Dean of Medical and Allied Sciences, Prof Dr Asif Burney, Additional Director of Isra Hospital and Prof Dr Abdul Jabbar Baloch, Head of the Orthodontics Department at LUMHS, Jamshoro.
During his address, Prof Dr Nazir Ashraf Laghari emphasised the importance of oral hygiene and the significance of clean teeth. He also highlighted the advantages of clear aligners, such as their impact-free nature on oral hygiene, comfort, convenience, and their negligible interference with eating habits and lifestyle.
Several facilitators also spoke at the workshop, including Dr Umar Farooq, the Regional Head of ClearPath Orthodontics, Dr Subuhi Ghani, Head of Orthodontics and Dr Sadia Asif Samdani, Assistant Professor of Orthodontics at Isra Dental College.
The facilitators covered various topics, including the history and evolution of clear aligners, the differences between braces and clear aligners, and the functioning of aligners. They also discussed their limitations and the parameters for selecting suitable cases.
Over 100 participants, including faculty members and house officers of Isra University Dental College, attended the workshop that also featured a Poster Competition, sponsored by ClearPath, with a cash prize of Rs10,000. The runners-up received a gift hamper courtesy of Mr Shumail from F.K. Dental.
Dr Abdul Ghani Pathan, the Principal and Director of Isra Dental College, warmly welcomed the guests, while Dr Noorullah Soomro and Dr Rabia Nasir from the Operative Dentistry Department at IDC efficiently coordinated and hosted the workshop.
