KARACHI: The provincial government has launched Rescue 1122 ambulance service in Tando Muhammad Khan (TMK) district under the Sindh Integrated Emergency and Health Services (SIEHS).
The launch ceremony was hosted by SIEHS CEO retired Brig Tarique Quadir Lakhiar, TMK Deputy Commissioner Yasir Bhatti, District Health Officer (DHO)Dr Lachman Das, and their team members, and attended by a large number of guests including politicians, officers, businessmen, educationists, lawyers and others.
Notable guests included MNA Syed Naveed Qamar, Government of Sindh (GoS) Adviser on Rehabilitation Department MPA Ghulam Rasool Chandio, GoS Adviser on Public Private Partnership MPA Syed Aijaz Hussain Shah, MPA Abdul Karim Soomro, Syed Zeeshan, Kamil Shah, Abdul Karim Jatt, Mir Aijaz Ali Talpur, Dr Iqbal Memon and Pakistan Rangers Lt Col Khurram Malik.
On the occasion Brig Lakhiar said he was very confident that the current political leadership is committed to serving the people of Sindh without any discrimination.
Lauding the extension of Rescue 1122 to interior Sindh, he said it was among the most well-equipped emergency services available round the clock in the world with highly-trained professional staff, adding that the people of the province should take pride in it.
He urged the people to cooperate with the Rescue 1122 staff and give them due respect as they were there to serve them 24/7.
“We will soon be bolstering our team with additional ambulances, firefighting equipment, and technical teams to cater to the needs of a larger population. Furthermore, we have intentions to launch outreach initiatives to educate individuals in life-saving techniques,” the SIEHS CEO said.
