KARACHI: The dental college of Bahria University Medical & Dental College (BUMDC) recently organised a badminton tournament among dental faculty members.
Dr Muhammad Mohsin Haider (Senior Lecturer) organised the tournament, which was facilitated by Dr Leeza Tarar (House Officer) and students of final year BDS, i.e., Vaseem Nazir, Rafay Raza and Noor Wajiha.
After the trials and initial knockouts, the quarter-final, eliminator, semi-final and final matches were held between:
Single men: Dr Muhammad Vs Dr Arsalan (Eliminator 1), Dr Adeel Vs Dr Arsalan (Eliminator 2), Dr Adeel Vs Dr Muhammad (Final). Winner: Dr Muhammad
Single women: Dr Ayesha Vs Dr Sumbul (Eliminator 1), Prof Dr Kulsoom Rizvi Vs Dr Ayesha (Eliminator 2), Dr Sumbul Vs Prof Dr Kulsoom (Final) Winner: Prof Dr Kulsoom Rizvi (Vice Principal Dental College, BUMDC)
Mixed doubles: Dr Sumbul & Dr Muhammad Vs Dr Usama & Dr Rida (Semi 1), Dr Mohsin & Dr Fatima Vs Dr Adeel & Dr Ayesha (Semi 2), Dr Adeel & Dr Ayesha Vs Dr Sumbul & Dr Muhammad (Final) Winning team: Dr Muhammad & Dr Sumbul
Sports activity between faculty members was held for the first time in the history of Bahria University Dental College. The huge crowd of dental students, house officers and faculty members gathered in the courtyard to cheer the players. After the event, a prize distribution ceremony took place. Prof Dr Wahab Baksh Kadri, Principal Dental College, BUMDC, distributed shields to the winners and Dr Muhammad Mohsin Haider for his efforts in making the tournament a success.
