KARACHI: Angered by the cancellation of the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) results by the interim provincial government, affected candidates and their parents staged a protest in front of the Karachi Press Club.
During the demonstration, the protesters voiced their concerns over the recurring irregularities in the MDCAT process. They expressed their frustration, stating that despite securing their positions, the notion of a re-examination is unacceptable, particularly because they could not study over the past one and a half months, the time during which they were unaware of the impending retest.
According to the protestors, the decision of the interim Sindh government to order a re-conduct of the MDCAT has not only undermined their hard work for the examination preparation, but has also disregarded the effort put into achieving satisfactory results in their matriculation and intermediate examinations.
The aggrieved parents pointed out the lack of responsibility displayed by the caretaker chief minister of Sindh in handling the situation and demanded legal action in accordance with the MDCAT Act against those found responsible for the leak of the examination paper.
