ISLAMABAD: In a recent parliament session, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government passed eight important bills, including the bill to replace the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) with Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC).

The new bill sparked a new debate on social media platforms, where many Medical and Dental undergraduates shared uncertainty about their future as new bill will affect their registrations and induction process in colleges.

It is pertinent to mention here that the bill for Pakistan Medical Council (PMC) was earlier rejected by the Senate of Pakistan.

According to the new PMC bill, students have to pass NLE ( National License Examination) to start practice. Similarly, students will have to undergo Central Induction Policy (CIP) to get induction in medical and dental colleges. PMC bill also gives unlimited autonomy to private medical and dental colleges as they can charge fees of their choice.
