Like most answers to medical diseases, canker sores are also undiagnosed as to why the take place. Different researchers quote different causes but there is no consensuses as yet. Unlike most oral or dental diseases canker sores do not occur due to any confirmed cause. So how can these sores or ulcers be avoided and what measures be taken to get rid of them? Here are 5 top causes that most researchers agree upon due to which canker sores take place.

1.    Nutritional Deficiency

Many studies of people suffering from canker sores show that people who have a deficiency of zinc, iron or folic acid are the ones who are most likely to suffer from these ulcers. Lack of calcium not only further instigates the problem but also enhances and prolongs the canker sore condition. The best way to avoid this issues? Keep in mind though that the problem is more common among kids because they are the ones who dislike eating fruits and vegetables that are the main source of this vitamin.
