KARACHI: Bahria University Health Sciences Campus, Karachi (BUHSC-K) organised a Commencement Day and White Coat ceremony for its BDS 11th Batch.
Vice Admiral (R) Ather Mukhtar HI (M), Director General, BUHSC-K, was the chief guest of the ceremony.
In her welcome address, Prof Ambreen Usmani, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Bahria University, apprised the upcoming students of their future challenges and responsibilities.
Mr Mukhtar advised the students to be focused and remain steadfast to achieve their aspirations and dreams. He added that the BUHSC-K is an ideal educational institution owing to its dedicated learning environment that can help young dentists excel in their careers.
Prof Kulsoom Fatima Rizvi, Vice Principal of the Bahria University Dental College (BUDC) Dental Section gave a detailed overview of the BDS study programme, the institute’s infrastructure and its accomplishments.
She also enlightened the audience about the faculty development programmes run by the varsity through annual workshops and seminars.
On the occasion, a video clip on the 11-year journey of the institute was also screened.
The chief guest, in his address, urged the parents and guardians to remain vigilant to the policies and rules set by the system, as well as the student’s academic performance.
He advised the students to devote their energies to their profession through hard work and discipline.
The senior faculty presented white coats to the newly-inducted students.
Prof Kulsoom Fatima Rizvi administered the oath to the new batch, followed by a sign-in ceremony for the students and their parents as a symbolic gesture of becoming a part of the BUDC.-PR
