KARACHI: Nomination of members of Sindh Health Care Commission (SHCC) by the provincial government has been welcomed by the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Sindh chapter, seeking early election of the body’s chairman.
The association has especially thanked Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah for nominating two members as per law, but deplored the delay in completion of the process that should have been concluded much earlier.
PMA Sindh says it believes that SHCC plays a vital role in the healthcare delivery system.
It stressed the need for early registration of health providers, elimination of quackery and above all the timely addressing of the patients’ complaints and decision of cases of medical negligence.
It demands that all elected SHCC commissioners should convene their meeting and elect the chairman at the earliest.
PMA hopes the new members will work together for better performance of the SHHC as per the guidelines prescribed by the SHCC Act 2014.
