Karachi: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) nominated senior party leader Dr Arif Alvi as next President of Pakistan. It is a special honour for the entire dental fraternity.
Dr Alvi has been associated with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) since its formation in 1996. PTI is the most rapidly growing political party of Pakistan, and for the first time has been able to create a tri-party system.
The party is anti-status quo movement and is now a main stake holder in the mainstream Pakistani politics. PTI today has over 10 million members in Pakistan and abroad making it the largest party by membership.
After the 2018 election results, the PTI became the single largest political party of Pakistan, winning a majority in the National Assembly. At the provincial levels, the PTI went up from being the second large party, to becoming the largest party in Punjab winning 179 seats, it remained the largest party in KPK with gaining 36 more seats, making it win 84 seats, it became the second largest party in Sindh winning 30 seats, and won its first 7 seats in Balochistan.
