DIKIOHS’ free checkup camp educative of Oral hygiene

DN Report KARACH- Under the shadow of Dr Ambrina Qureshi, HoD of preventive dentistry the community dentistry department of DIKIOHS organized a free dental checkups camp at "Bright star public school" Maripur. The main objective of the organizer is to promote, awareness about the oral health diseases and proper brushing techniques. The camp provides oral health examinations and restorative treatments, apprising about oral health diseases to the thousands of school children. Dr. Narendar Dawani, Assistant professor and Administrative co-coordinator, supervised final year Class of, Bachelor in Dental Hygienists (BDH), along with other lecturers of community dentistry .The camp, offered free dental treatment such as fissure sealants and A traumatic restorative procedures. The sole aim behind all these activities was to spread awareness about oral health and provide better treatments through the dental hygienists to unnerved population. He said the PMDC was a government body regulating medical education in Pakistan and its reputation guaranteed jobs for doctors all over the world. According to Section 35 of the PMDC (Amendment) Act 2012, the council has been dissolved and its president and vice-president will work as chairman and vice-chairman under an interim set-up, he said. "Now the chairman, vice-chairman and the executive committee will conduct the council election under an interim set-up," Dr Sherwani remarked. He said the executive committee made another committee to conduct the election on October 3 in violation of Section 36B of the PMDC (Amendment) Act 2012. "Dr Husain and his group in the executive committee were forcing the PMDC president to resign so that he can conduct the election on his whims," Dr Sherwani said.
