KARACHI: Fatima Jinnah Dental College (FJDC) & Hospital recently held a workshop for its faculty on Continuous Professional Development.
This workshop aimed to develop and enhance faculty expertise on creative PowerPoint presentations, interactive lectures, multimedia design principles, time management skills, teamwork, and coordination.
Dr Gulrukh Askary, Director Academics and Head of Oral Pathology Department, FJDC and her demonstrators facilitated the workshop. They divided the whole session into two parts.
In the first segment, Dr Gulrukh covered key points on the significance of interacting teaching styles through engaging presentations and improved techniques. She further guided the importance of body language, tone, and attitude during lecture delivery and how to maintain students' interest throughout the lecture.
The second segment of the workshop was activity-based, where candidates were grouped and given the task of preparing a PowerPoint presentation by utilizing all demonstrated vital points. One of the group members was asked to deliver the presentation, and later, candidates were given remarks about it.
At the end of the session, participants were overwhelmed with the experience and provided positive feedback about the workshop.
