ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi rejected PMDC amendments bill 2022 and requested for it to be sent back to the National Assembly.
A joint meeting has been scheduled to take place in the near future, to discuss the passing of the PMDC bill. If the bill shall be approved in this joint setting, PMDC bill shall automatically become law after 10 days without the approval of President, Dr Arif Alvi.
The bill seeked to reestablish the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and reinstate the Medical Teaching Institution (MTI) Act. Both bills were moved by PPP leader Jam Abdil Karim, and were passed by the National Assembly and sent to the President for approval, after which is was to become the act of parliament.
