PDA Presidents condemn the assassination of KMDC's Prof. Javed Kazi.

Every member of the Medical fraternity is deeply aggrieved at the sad demise of Professor Dr. Javed Iqbal Kazi, who was a Ph.D, Heading the Pathology Department at the Karachi Medical & Dental College, while he also served as the Dean of Medicine Faculty at University of Karachi. Dr. Kazi was ruthlessly shot and killed on 17th February, by unidentified assailants in Nazimabad Block M. As soon as Dr. Kazi's car came out of the KMDC campus, four culprits came on motorcycles and fired numerous bullets targeting the vehicle, thus fatally injuring Dr. Kazi, while his driver was also critically injured during the heinous assault. The President of Pakistan Dental Association (PDA), Central Council – Dr. Saqib Rashid and the President of PDA Sindh – Dr. Mehmood Shah have made a jointly condemned the target killing of this highly qualified and seasoned medical expert and academician. On behalf of the PDA, Dr. Saqib and Dr. Shah have extended deep condolences for the bereaved family and they also demanded exemplary punishment for the criminals involved in the cold-blooded murder conspiracy. “May Allah Almighty bless the departed soul with eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude”. This atrocious assassination is being termed as a big loss for the healthcare sector of Pakistan. Dr. Javed Kazi will be remembered forever and his outstanding services to the field of Medicine and Pathology will always serve as a beacon for the future doctors. The PMA had also invited a press conference recently, to highlight the Doctors' killings, rampant kidnappings and threat calls for ransom. According to the PMA statistics, more than 130 doctors have been killed over the past couple of years, by criminal gangs and extortionists. This deteriorating law and order situation is creating a highly insecure and disturbing environment for Doctors, Healthcare workers and Polio vaccination teams all over the country. Over the years, many of the highly qualified doctors have been forced to migrate and shift their clinics abroad, to avoid the threats to their life and properties.
