KARACHI: The Department of Orthodontics, Bahria University Medical & Dental College recently conducted an orthodontic case presentation session for final year BDS students.
Dr Omair, Senior Lecturer, Orthodontics, BUMDC, supervised the department to hold the case presentation session at the end of students' rotation. Wherein students of the group were assigned cases individually. Dr Farnaz Ilyas from the Department of Prosthodontics graded the students' presentation.
The students were supposed to analyse the cases using casts, radiographs, photographs, and detailed histories to formulate a diagnosis, problem list and a specific treatment plan. The students then presented the case analysis and treatment plans.
This activity enabled the students to approach orthodontic problems in a dynamic way allowing them to attain treatment-oriented learning skills.
The best presenter was Umm-e-Habiba, and Aimen Imran was the runner-up. Dr Farnaz and Dr Omair awarded the certificate to the position holders.
