KARACHI: The Continuing Dental Education (CDE) Department of Sir Syed College of Medical Sciences (SSCMS), Karachi, conducted a session on fixed orthodontic braces and clear aligners in adults and their benefits for the patient.
Prof. HR Sukhia, Principal Dental Section and Head of Orthodontics Department, SSCMS, Dr Syed Ali Raza, CDE Coordinator and Dr Zareen Afshan, led the session on fixed effects orthodontic braces and clear aligners in adults and the social changes and benefits for the patient.
Various orthodontic appliances were discussed, especially clear aligners. Dr Ali and Dr Zareen stressed the importance of promoting aligners amongst the adults as they have greater social acceptance and benefits.
Clear aligners have been an excellent option for those who want a straighter smile without wearing traditional metal braces. Aligners have also been beneficial for patients with previous orthodontic treatment who want to make minor improvements to their smile.
The staff and students appreciated the efforts of the faculty in promoting clinical awareness.
