KARACHI: Liaquat College of Medicine and Dentistry (LCMD) recently marked Teachers’ Day 2.0, honoring the role of teachers in shaping the students’ future.

Consul General of Turkey H.E. Cemal Sangu was the chief guest of the event, along with Dr. Rahat Naz, Director of HR and Affiliation at JSMU, and Dr. Azam Khan, Registrar of JSMU.

In their speeches, they paid rich tributes to the teachers who made a significant impact on the institution and its students.

The event began with recitation of the Holy Quran by 2nd-year BDS students Shehreyar and Faris, followed by national anthems of Pakistan and Turkey, played symbolizing the unity and strong bond between the two countries.

Two 2nd-year BDS students, Shaheer Asim and Maheera Junaid, presented a heartfelt poem dedicated to teachers, admiring their role in students personal and academic growth.

On the occasion, the Student Choice Awards, Multidimensional Teacher Evaluation Awards and Star HOD of the Year and Teacher Choice Awards, were announced in recognition of faculty members services and dedication.

Students from each academic year also presented video tributes, appreciating their teachers, followed by presentation of gifts and tokens of appreciation to all teachers, acknowledging their dedication and hard work.

The event was organized under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Navid Rashid Qureshi, Principal of the

College of Dentistry, who emphasized the critical role of teachers in nurturing future

professionals.

The organizing team, led by Chief Organizer Dr. Asad Farooq and including Dr. Rizwan Hassan, Dr. Sabaa Shahid, Dr. Asma Shahid, Dr. Ayesha Khurram, and Mr. Moiz Majid, worked hard to make the event successful.

The event not only honored the dedication of teachers but also strengthened the sense of community and commitment fostered by LCMD for academic excellence.
