KARACHI: The Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH), Karachi, has recently won the 2021 World Oral Health Day (WOHD) Award for the 'Best Campaign by a Dental Practice or Clinic' under the theme titled "Be Proud of Your Mouth".
FDI World Dental Federation and the WOHD Task Team congratulated AKUH for their enthusiastic commitment to oral health in their community.
Dr Gerhard Seeberger, President, FDI World Dental Federation, mentioned AKUH amplified their theme by organising 11 activities across various channels, including educational lectures, poster presentations, TV, radio interviews, live social media events (Facebook) and email marketing campaigns.
Every year, FDI gives out the World Oral Health Day Awards to recognise those who raise the most outstanding campaigns under the given theme. The awards have been divided into six categories to reward the work of FDI members, students, and the public. Participants have to submit an activity report after March 20 on the WOHD website to be considered for an award.
The categories for which FDI distributes the World Oral Health Day Awards under the given theme are the Best Campaign by a Dental Practice or Clinic, Best Social Media Campaign, Best Media Campaign, Most Educational Activity, Most Original Activity and Best Branded Photo.
