ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Medical & Dental College's Department of Community Dentistry and Oral Medicine, in collaboration with Colgate, recently marked ‘Oral Health Care Week’ to enhance awareness about oral health and encourage proactive practices, examining some 600 visitors free of cost.
The event was widely promoted through messages and banners in the vicinity, inviting individuals to avail free dental check-ups at Islamabad Dental Hospital (IDH).
Dr Sheze Haroon Qazi, Dr Saba Masoud, and Dr Javed Ashraf, representing the Department of Community Dentistry, supervised and assisted the Colgate team during the event.
Dr Abdul Manan and Dr Ali Khan from the Oral Medicine Department, along with house officers from the Outpatient Department, provided free oral examinations and conducted educational sessions on oral health for hospital visitors.
Approximately 600 patients received complimentary oral examinations during the week, and the Colgate team distributed free dental hygiene kits.
The event was actively promoted through various channels, including social media, to ensure maximum participation and outreach.
This week-long initiative underscores IMDC's commitment to promoting oral health and improving dental care accessibility, particularly for underprivileged communities. “We express our gratitude to Colgate Pakistan for allowing us to participate in Oral Health Care Week and look forward to continued collaboration with them in future endeavors,” a statement by IMDC management said.
