GUJRAT: The district administration has launched a probe into the alleged scam, involving Hashmat Medical College (HMC), Jalalpur Jattan, according to a report by a private media channel.
A group of students from the college, addressed the Deputy Commissioner, claiming that the institution had been allowed to admit at least 100 students, as per court’s order. However, last month they came to know that they had been lied to by the college administration regarding the college’s accreditations by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) and an affiliation with a chartered medical university.
The students expressed that, they had been left in the lurch since the college administration had not been able to conduct their annual exams of MBBS Part I, which were supposed to be held in October 2017.
In response to the application, the Deputy Commissioner appointed Syed Musa Raza, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (revenue), to conduct an investigation into this alleged scam. The inquiry officer has sought court orders regarding the permission for admissions.
Meanwhile, parents of many affected students lodged a strong protest against the college administration at HMC’s campus. They rapped the administration’s failure in conducting the exams. Whereas, the college administration has reportedly assured the students and parents that the issue would soon be resolved.
