Board of Studies meeting was recently held at Sindh Institute of Oral Health Sciences, JSMU. The meeting was chaired by Prof. S.M. Kefi Iqbal, Dean Faculty of Dentistry (SIOHS). Other members included Prof. Yawar Abidi, Prof. Mohsin Girach, Prof. H. R. Sukhia, Prof. Tasleem Hosein, Prof. Zubair Abbasi, Prof. Amjad Ali Syed (Controller of Examinations, JSMU), Prof. Sheema Farhan, Dr Laeeq-uz-Zaman, Dr S. Moyn Aly, Dr Marium Azfar, Dr Maham Lone (4th year BDS Incharge) & Dr Mohid Abrar Lone (3rd year BDS Incharge).
Upon initiation of the session, the Chairman gave a brief account of the core activities of the university. The Chairman presented the curriculum of 1st to 4th years of BDS to all members for the approval of the curriculum. Dr Moyn Aly suggested to the members that five new components i.e Behavioral Sciences, Patient safety, Research, Orientation Skill, Professionalism & Ethics should be introduced to the curriculum of BDS in future. The Chairman also presented the academic calendar to the board members.
The session was brought to a close by the Dean, who conveyed a note of thanks to all the members & appreciated their valuable input.
