Prof Masroor posted as SMC principal

KARACHI: In a recent development, Prof Syed Masroor Ahmed has assumed the charge of principal at Sindh Medical College, a part of Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU).

Prof Masroor, who already holds the position of Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Allied at the JSMU, has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of leading Sindh Medical College. This appointment was officially announced through a notification issued by Prof Amjad Siraj Memon, the JSMU vice chancellor.

Prof Masroor thanked the VC for placing him in charge of such a prestigious medical college.

Prof Ahmed is a widely respected figure in the field of education and administration. His dedication to academic excellence, commitment to students, and advocacy for patient care and community health are well-recognised. He holds the FCPS qualification in medicine and serves as the secretary of the Faculty of Medicine at CPSP. He has also authored and co-authored 25 articles in his field.

In his new capacity as SMC head, Prof Masroor will oversee the overall management and functioning of the college and collaborate with the faculty and staff to develop and implement new academic programmes and initiatives.
