ISLAMABAD: The Department of Community Dentistry at Islamabad Medical & Dental College (IMDC) celebrated World Oral Health Day 2022.
Dr Sheze Haroon Qazi, Dr Saba Masoud and Dr Ayesha Khan planned multiple events from the department involving dental students and patients. Dental News, Shield and Colgate sponsored the events.
The celebrations kicked off with free dental camps held at Islamabad Dental Hospital. Patients coming to the dental OPD were examined and given gift sets. Oral health education and counselling sessions were given to those visiting the dental OPD.
Dental students also celebrated the day by participating in quiz and poster competitions organized by the Rawal Institute of Health Sciences (RIHS) and Foundation University College of Dentistry. IMDC won both the quiz and poster competitions at the respective institutes.
Moreover, a video clip competition was organized, and all dental schools in Islamabad and Rawalpindi were invited to participate.
Various video clips on the importance of oral health were displayed. IMDC once again secured a position along with RIHS.
