Govt seals 122 illegal treatment centres in Pakistan

LAHORE: In an attempt to overcome quacks, the Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) recently sealed 122 illegal treatment centres in the last two weeks.

 As per the data and complaints, the PHC’s enforcement teams intruded 1,355 treatment centres in 23 districts of Punjab. 

Among the visited centres, 67 were run legally by qualified physicians, and 663 centres run by quacks had been converted into other businesses. The maximum number of 15 illegal businesses was shut in Rawalpindi, nine each in Mianwali and Lahore, eight each in Sargodha and Khanewal and seven in Dera Ghazi Khan.

Medix Clinical Lab, Waqar Shafakhana, Asif Clinic, Nafees Dental Clinic, Gulfam Clinic, Makkah Medical Store, Ali Dental Clinic, Madni Clinic and Ijaz Clinic were closed down in Lahore.
