Community Outreach Program By BMC

Bolan Medical College (BMC), Quetta

‘Healthy smile for everyone' is every dental student and professional’s motto at BMC.

The department of Community Dentistry (BMC) has always been on the frontline, to help and provide awareness to the society. They arranged a community visit for their dental sophomores, under the supervision of Prof Dr. Mujeeb ur Rehman Baloch, Head of Dental section, alongside Associate Professor Dr. Hammal Naseer Baloch, Dr. Mehwish Malik , Dr. Erum Sami, Dr. Mehwish Jaffrey, Dr. Palwasha Sher , Dr. Fazila Khilji and Dr. Saniya Baloch. The team paid an educational visit to Valley School, located near Malaq hall Quetta.

Dr. Fazila Khilji delivered the lecture based on Oral Health Awareness, followed by demonstration of tooth brushing techniques by Dr. Mehwish Jaffrey. Moreover, a lecture on healthy and unhealthy foods was also given by Dr. Mehwish Malik

Pakistan, being a developing country has faced serious issues due to poor oral health and lack of awareness, that eventually leads to progression of dental diseases. To overcome these obstacles and implementing healthy lifestyles, awareness must be spread amongst our community members, for a better and healthy future.

The main aim behind arranging this activity was to reach out to the community and to provide awareness to school going children, regarding the importance for their oral health and how to maintain it.

The never ending efforts of BMC’s department of Community Dentistry will one day help in establishing a positive and healthy impact on the community, to prevent further damage.
