KARACHI: Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IPS) organised Culture Repast and Spring Plantation Drive 2023.
During the drive, IPS Principal Prof Dr Huma Ali, Vice Principal and Director Research Prof Dr Huma Sharif, along with faculty members planted saplings in the institute premises.
The drive with the slogan ‘IPS Go Green’ was launched under the supervision of IPS Students Advisor and Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department head Prof Dr Kiran Rafiq, along with event organisers IPS Associate Professor Dr Shaheen Perveen, AP Dr Fozia Israr and Lecturer Ms Zaib Kausar.
Vice Chancellor Prof Amjad Siraj Memon, in his message, highlighting the importance of the plantation drive, said trees saved millions of lives in human history and provided a healthy environment for humans, protecting them against various diseases.
The VC appealed to the public to take part in the plantation drive to save the environment for a healthy future.
Later, IPS faculty visited the food and games stalls and saw cultural activities.
