KARACHI - Baqai Medical University has a tradition of organizing sports activities for one week during each academic year. This event is popularly known as Baqai University Annual Sports Week. The JADAL 2013 started from the 21st of March 2013. Teams from all departments, chose their own catchy names like; BDS students as the CHEETAHS, MBBS students (4th and Final Year) as the DRAGONS, MBBS (1st - 3rd Year) are called the SCORPIONS, Pharm-D are the HAWKS, Physiotherapy Dept. is known as the LIONS, M-TECH are the WARRIORS, Veterinary are the BULLS and Nursing students are the FIGHTERS. Boys & Girls Cricket, Football, Volleyball & throwball contests were the major sports, while athletics were also conducted. The Warriors became Champions of Boys cricket; The Dragons were victorious against Hawks in girl's cricket. Football final was a tough - DO or DIE Match, decided on Penalty shoots & won by the Scorpions against Cheetahs. Cheetah girls performed well and proved their strength and excellence by winning the Tug of War & also becoming the champions for Throwball. Volleyball was won by the Fighters as they faced a tough opposition from the Dragons. Marathon race was a part of this sport, won by Boys & Girls of Cheetahs. Athletics had a combination of 100m, Relay Race, Long Jump, Javelin, Discus Throw & Short put. Finals were played on the last day, i.e 29th March 2013. According to the Gold Medals, Dragons (MBBS) lifted the Champions trophy followed by the runners up - Cheetahs. The whole event was organized under command of Vice Principal Baqai Dental College - Dr. Talha M. Siddiqui, Chief Organizer - Dr. Muhammad Ain-ul-Haq (Baqai Dental College), Organizers - Dr.Samee H.Siddiqi, Dr.Basim Munir & Dr. Shehryar H.Siddiqui, along with; Beenab Maqbool (MBBS) & Mujtaba Sheikh (BDS) as Secretaries.
