The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has found ‘fake’ doctors, who failed to produce any evidence of their foreign MBBS degrees or BDS qualifications.
According to reports; Among these allegedly FAKE doctors are; Asif Siddique (Registration No 14648-N), Nasra Hassan (15512-N), Muhammad Mustafa Shah (12433-N), Khairul Waris (14497-N), Zaristan (12320-N), Muhammad Sikandar Hayat (13149-N), Muhammad Riaz Khan (12427-N) and Javed Iqbal (12468-N).
PMDC Registrar - Dr. Raja Amjad Mehmood while responding to a question, confirmed the development and stated that; The fake doctors in question had got themselves registered with the PMDC a few years ago, without fulfilling the requirement of producing their passports, the country's entry and exit record, or the foreign MBBS / BDS degrees. Some corrupt PMDC officials had connived with such fake doctors for registration.
The registrar also stated that; PMDC has formed an internal committee to prepare a report of fake doctors and lodged FIRs against them with the Federal Investigation Agency’s Crime Circle, under Section 154 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
The PMDC official also stated that: Medical students, who have completed their graduation from countries, in which English is not the official language, have to clear the NEB test conducted by the PMDC, before getting a registration. “As many as 63 graduates just paid the Rs11,000 examination fee and got the registration certificates without attempting the exam. Moreover, there were also graduates who failed to clear the test despite making more than one attempts till 2010 but suddenly got the certificates. The certificates stated that the graduates had cleared the exam in 2007”.
