ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Medical & Dental College (IMDC) recently hosted a Oral Health Promotion Day. It was organized by Community Dentistry Department. The theme of the day was: ”BATTLING THE TOOTH-BERG”. HOD Dr. Rubina Mumtaz presented the oral health promotion agenda. She highlighted the need of oral health policy, induction of auxiliary dental staff at primary health level, address the unequal distribution of dentists and collaborative approach to oral health promotion. The other team member were Dr. Sheze Haroon, Dr. Quratulain & Dr. Sadia Sajjad. The event consist of poster and role-play competition among the 2nd year BDS students of IMDC, MIHS, RIHS, IIDC and FUCD colleges. The role-play of IMDC students was on oral health policy “Policing Dentistry”. IMDC got 2nd position in poster competition with the theme of “History of Dentistry” The event was well appreciated by the participants and guests. These types of activities provide an opportunity to the students to express their ideas in different mediums. At the end, the position holders were given cash prizes along with certificates.
