GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan: A 56-year-old grandma recently won a contest and received a $50,000 dental transformation.

Kimberly Ivy participated in an annual 'Smile Again' contest of Advanced Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Studio and won by competing 440 people.

She has been the fourth person to win such a prize since the studio's surgeons began the initiative.

She has been dealing with a problematic and painful wisdom tooth, among various other dental issues. Ivy had lost 60 pounds in two years as she could not eat lettuce, raw vegetables, or steak but was just on sandwiches and soup.

The surgeons who were going to give her a transformation said that they would put in dental implants in the surgery, and she would walk out that day with a set of teeth and would not have that caved-in feeling and be able to chew again.

The doctors will begin taking scans and doing other preparatory work in December, and then at the start of the new year, Ivy will get her brand new smile.
