Dr Cesar Sabates is new president of American Dental Association

CORAL GABLES, Florida: Dr Cesar Sabates of Coral Gables, Florida, has recently been appointed as the 158th president of the American Dental Association (ADA) and became the first Cuban-American dentist to handle the position. 

 Dr Sabates served to ADA Board of Trustees from 2016-2020 and ADA House of Delegates from 2000-2016 before being appointed as ADA president. He also fulfilled duties as president at the Florida Dental Association (FDA) and the South Florida District Dental Association (SFDDA).

Dr Sabates received a certificate of advanced education in general dentistry from the University of Missouri-Kansas School of Dentistry, the same from where he did his bachelors. He has also been a fellow of the American College of Dentists, Pierre Fauchard Academy and International College of Dentists. Dr Sabates has also been maintaining a private practice in Coral Gables.

Dr Sabates said that the opportunity to serve as president of the ADA had been a milestone, and following the footsteps of the many who had come before him has been a huge honour, and he looked forward to continuing the work that had such a strong impact in the field of dentistry.

Dr Sabates has valued diversity throughout his career and would continue to emphasize it during his presidency. With an ample amount of experience working with dentists, Dr Sabates would bring insight and vision that would help make strides towards required goals during his time as president.
