To extend knowledge of Oral Medicine among the students and house officers, the Department of Oral Diagnosis and Medicine, Sir Syed Dental Hospital (Sir Syed College Of Medical Sciences) frequently conducts oral medicine interactive. The session for August 2018 was organized by Dr. Summaiya and Dr Summita, lecturers of Oral Medicine and Diagnostic Department. House officers Ayesha Nagi and Qurat-Ul-Ain Razzaq gave presentations on geographic tongue and denture induced stomatitis. The main aim of this activity is to spread awareness, and educate students and house officers about the various oral diseases which can frequently be seen in dental OPDs. Students of third year BDS also actively participated in the interactive session. Through their presentations, the presenters were able to educate the audience on the various subjects of oral diagnosis and oral medicine. Few of the learning highlights of this session were: 1) An understanding of the aetiology, epidemiology and clinical presentation of well-characterised disorders of the mouth, 2) An understanding of the relevant investigation and management of such diseases, and 3) An understanding of the process of learning and the dissemination of clinical knowledge. Dr.Mahreen Shahzad, Head of Department and Associate Professor of Oral Diagnosis and Medicine appreciated the efforts of all those that took part in the interactive session.
