BDMCH, PPS Arrange Seminar On World Suicide Prevention Day

MIRPUR KHAS: Department of Medicine of Bhitai Dental & Medical College (BDMCH), in collaboration with the Department of Medical Education, BDMC and Sindh Chapter of Pakistan Psychiatric Society (PPS), recently organised a seminar on World Suicide Prevention Day.

 Welcoming the guests, Dr Ali Maqbool, Vice Principal and Director of Health Professional Education Department, BDMCH, highlighted the importance of mental health and how the young generation feels disturbed and stressed in these testing times. 

 Dr Ghulam Mustafa, Managing Director, BDMCH, graced the event with his presence. He emphasised the need for more such awareness sessions. He reiterated the commitment of all Institutions of Bhitai Group of Colleges towards promoting social, physical and mental education and wellbeing of students in particular and society in general.

 Dr Permanand, Principal, BDMCH, appreciated the efforts of all mentors and facilitators of the BDMC Mentorship Program and shared that it has been a viable counselling program that keeps students motivated and positive. Dr Asghar Arain, Deputy MS, BDMCH, praised the efforts being put by the faculty members.

 Dr Lakesh Khatri, the well-known psychiatrist of Mirpurkhas, also delivered a precious talk on this occasion. He shared the statistics, tips and tricks on suicidal tendencies and identifying any risk factors as an ordinary man. 

 In the end, souvenirs were distributed amongst speakers and guests.
