KARACHI: The Sindh Food Authority has (SFA) temporarily sealed the canteen of Patel Hospital and imposed Rs200,000 fine after 40kg stale meat was found there, besides overall poor sanitary conditions at the facility.
These issues came to light after a team of SFA conducted a surprise inspection of the hospital in Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Karachi, on the order of the authority’s Director General Agha Fakhar Hussain.
SFA DG has warned those running kitchens and canteens at the public as well private hospitals in the province of strict action if they failed to maintain hygiene and follow other rules of the authority.
He said the violators of the SFA rules would have to face other legal actions, besides fine.
