ISLAMABAD: During inspections, the Islamabad Healthcare Regulatory Authority (IHRA) teams sealed three healthcare establishments in different areas of the capital territory over various irregularities, including unqualified staff, poor hygiene and lack of registration.
According to IHRA spokesperson, the authority’s teams carried out inspections of 42 healthcare establishments, including clinics and hospitals, in different ICT areas during the past two weeks.
These establishments - Zahir Khan Clinic, Maryam Clinic and Al-Barka Medical Centre - were sealed due to various irregularities and malpractices like the absence of qualified medical staff, unhygienic conditions, not getting registration with the IHRA and functioning during the suspension, he says.
The authority also suspended the services of two healthcare establishments - Right Ways Rehab Centre and Grow Hair Transplant and Skin Care Clinic -- over non-compliance with IHRA rules.
Similarly, 25 other healthcare establishments were served notices for minor non-compliances and instructed to comply with the directions given by the inspection team.
Meanwhile, 12 healthcare establishments were found closed when visited by the inspection teams.
IHRA teams have also conducted zone-wise mapping of 10 healthcare establishments over two weeks.
