Foreign Qualified Doctors Undergo PMDC’s Equivalency Examination

Islamabad: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) held their equivalency examinations for foreign qualified medical and dental graduates. Upon announcing the results, it was revealed that, 80 percent medical and 88 percent dental graduates passed the examination. These exams were conducted by the National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) at CMH and Armed Forces Institute of Dentistry (AFID), Rawalpindi.


A total number of 1321 candidates appeared for the NEB medical equivalency exam, out of the registered candidates, 1066 graduates successfully cleared the exam.


Meanwhile, 09 candidates appeared for the NEB dental examination, consisting of OSCE and VIVA, from which 08 were declared successful.


The successful foreign qualified graduates will now be able to register with PMDC as doctors, after getting notified by the Ministry of National Health Services Regulations and Coordination (NHSRC).
