Court seeks reply from PIMS doctors for PTI chief’s fake medical report

ISLAMABAD: Additional District Judge Lahore Qamar Abbas, has sought a reply from Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) doctors for allegedly preparing a fake medical report of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan during his arrest at Islamabad.

Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf was taken to PIMS for his medical examination after his arrest from the Islamabad High Court premises on May 9.

Federal Health Minister Abdul Qadir Patel had presented the medical report of PTI chief to the media during a press conference held at Islamabad.

PTI chairman’s lawyer Advocate Ahmed filed a plea asking the court to issue notices to the doctors, who allegedly became facilitators in “forgery and false propaganda” against Mr Khan.

Acting on the request of Mr Khan’s lawyer that PIMS doctors -- Dr Rizwan Taj, Dr Sajid Zaki Chauhan, Dr Irshad Hussain, Dr Asfandyar Khan and Dr Mehdi Hasan Naqvi – allegedly prepared a fake medical report of PTI chief, the court of law sought answers from the medics concerned.

Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf has also filed a Rs10 billion damages suit against Mr Patel for alleged forgery, also nominating the five PIMS doctors.
