GENEVA: FDI World Dental Federation recently announced the cancellation of the World Dental Congress (WDC) scheduled in Mumbai, India, from September 29 to October 2, 2022.
FDI released a statement which states,
"FDI World Dental Federation (FDI) is sad to announce that the 2022 World Dental Congress (WDC) scheduled to take place in Mumbai, India, from September 29 to October 2, 2022, will not take place.
Unfortunately, our member and co-host, the Indian Dental Association (IDA), took the decision to withdraw from the organisation of the Congress, which has resulted in the cancellation of the event. FDI does not have the time, capacity, and resources to organise the WDC independently of our member organisation.
The FDI World Dental Parliament, including all business meetings, will take place in person. Further information, including dates, times and venue, will be shared with all concerned in due course.
We are sorry for any disappointment this may cause and look forward to meeting again in 2023."
