Dr Asim's condition stable

KARACHI - Chairman Higher Education Commission Sindh and Former Petroleum Minister Dr Asim Hussain who was brought to National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) after complaining of chest pain, is now in a stable condition, reliable sources at NICVD confirmed.
A team of doctors led by Dr Shahid Rasool examined him and conducted different tests. Based on ECG, X-ray, and other test reports his condition is out of danger.
Dr Asim Hussain has a history of diabetes, hypertension and kidney problems but his condition is out of danger now. Sources said a medical board will be constituted for Dr Asim’s treatment in the next few days. Dr Asim Hussain was moved to intensive care unit (ICU) private ward at NICVD.
The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Senior Information Minister Nisar Khuhro visited the hospital and inquired about the health Dr Asim Hussain.
A senior Cardiologist of NICVD on condition of anonymity, said condition of Dr Asim Hussain is out of danger but we cannot perform angiography of patients without consultation of nephrologists as his kidney is not functioning normally and level of urine Creatinine is high.
Earlier, An Anti-Terrorism court (ATC) in Karachi had handed over Dr Asim to Rangers for 90-day preventive detention over his alleged involved in corruption and supporting the terrorists on 27 August 2015.
