Doctors Allow Intradermal Injection Of COVID-19 Vaccine Boosters

BANGKOK - Doctors in Thailand have recently allowed COVID-19 booster shots under the skin rather than injecting into muscles to strengthen immunity and expand vaccine supplies.

Anutin Charnvirakul, Minister of Public Health, Thailand, said the method approved by the doctors were supported by evidence.

Chalermpong Sukonthaphon, Director of the Vachira Hospital, Phuket, said that the trials of intradermal injections showed a similar immune response to the standard approach. "One vaccine dose can be used for five intradermal injections,"  he further said.
