KARACHI: A surprise inspection by Director General of Sindh Food Authority, Agha Fakhar Hussain, and his team at Habib Public University in Karachi revealed shocking findings. The university's kitchen was found to be in deplorable condition, with expired meat discovered in the premises. In response to this alarming situation, the university's kitchen operations were temporarily suspended, the expired meat was disposed of, and a substantial fine of Rs 500,000 was imposed.
During the visit, Director General Agha Fakhar Hussain issued a stern warning to the owners of kitchens and canteens in both public and private educational institutions throughout Sindh. He emphasized the necessity of maintaining the quality and hygiene standards of their respective kitchens and canteens in accordance with the health regulations outlined by the Sindh Food Authority. Failure to adhere to these standards would result in not only fines but also other legal actions taken against these establishments.
Agha Fakhar Hussain emphasized that the Sindh Food Authority was unwavering in its commitment to upholding health and hygiene standards. He stressed that abiding by these principles was a fundamental responsibility shared by all institutions.
