KARACHI: In a response to the alarming leak of the MDCAT 2023 papers, the Sindh Caretaker Minister for health, Dr. Saad Niaz, has taken decisive action by initiating a high-level inquiry. The leaked papers, which have raised concerns over the integrity of the medical college admissions process, were confirmed through multiple media outlets.
The meeting for the investigation into the leaked MDCAT papers was convened, signifying the seriousness with which the authorities are addressing this issue. The Special Secretary of Health Sindh is overseeing the inquiry, and the committee entrusted with this critical task comprises key figures, including the Registrar of IBA and an Additional Secretary from the Board and Universities Department.
Notably, the committee includes members from various government departments, reflecting a comprehensive approach to tackle this breach of security. Among those participating is the Deputy Secretary of Sindh Services, the General Administration, Coordination Department, and the Director of FIA's Cyber Crime division, alongside other relevant officials.
Caretaker Minister Dr. Saad Niaz, acknowledging the gravity of the situation, stated, "The investigations for this incident will be conducted with the utmost diligence, and the committee formed for this inquiry adheres to the highest standards of integrity and expertise." He also emphasized the urgency of the matter, stating that investigations have been initiated promptly, and the process will be expedited.
Regarding the disclosure of the source of the leak, Dr. Niaz asserted, "As soon as the source of this breach is confirmed, it will be made public. No one will be allowed to undermine the merit-based progress we aim to achieve." He further reassured the public, saying, "The culprits responsible for this breach of trust will be identified and dealt with sternly."
