LAHORE: The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has finalised arrangements for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT), scheduled for Sunday across Punjab.

Examination papers and essential materials were dispatched to 11 cities in Punjab under tight security. The papers are securely sealed in steel trunks and escorted by district police and assistant commissioners. Senior faculty and staff from UHS accompanied the transport. Upon arrival, the papers will be stored in secure safe rooms at district treasury offices, according to a UHS spokesman.

UHS Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ahsan Waheed Rathor personally oversaw the dispatch and offered special prayers for the safety of candidates, parents, and staff, as well as for the smooth conduct of the examination. As an additional precaution, the university conducted charity animal sacrifices for protection.

To ensure effective coordination during the exam, a Command and Control Center has been established at UHS, with Prof. Rathor supervising operations. A help desk with designated officers will maintain continuous communication with examination centers.

The UHS has requested a suspension of mobile and internet services within a 500-meter radius of all exam centers. Training sessions for invigilation staff are scheduled for Saturday at their respective locations.

Senior faculty members and UHS officials have been appointed as head couriers for the exam materials, while vice-chancellors, pro-vice chancellors, and principals of medical universities will serve as regional in-charges.

To prevent unauthorized access, Section 144 has been enforced at all examination centers. The district administration and UHS have arranged seating for parents near the centers, with a significant police presence ensuring security.

Teaching hospitals and district headquarters have been placed on high alert, and personnel from the Special Branch, Civil Defense, and Fire Brigade will be deployed at the centers. Additionally, NADRA’s e-Sahulat counters will verify the identity of any suspicious candidates.
