PPP to stand against Supreme Court decision

Adviser to Chief Minister Sindh on Information, Barrister Murtaza Wahab said Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) leadership has decided to approach the Supreme Court of Pakistan, against the decision to handover Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) and National Institute of Child Health (NICH) to Federal Government.

Whilst addressing a press conference, Barrister Murtaza was of the opinion that since the subject of health has been devolved to provinces, under the 18th Amendment; the management of concerned hospitals should rest with them.

He added that the Government of Sindh will not make any compromises on provincial autonomy and shall take the case up to the Supreme Court.

Furthermore, he mentioned that previously,  NICVD was only in Karachi, but now Sindh Government has expanded its scope to the entire province, facilitating needy patients.

He alleged that the Federal Government has failed to deliver upto the required standards and is scheming against the Government of Sindh, but Pakistan People's Party (PPP) will compete on every front, without jeopardizing the health delivery system of Sindh.
