KARACHI: The Department of Community Dentistry at Jinnah Medical and Dental College (JMDC), in collaboration with the Department of Nursing at Medicare Hospital, recently organized a hands-on Basic Life Support (BLS) workshop for dental house officers, aiming to prepare them for life-saving interventions during medical emergencies.
The workshop focused on equipping participants with the knowledge and skills needed to identify and manage victims of cardiac arrest effectively. House officers were taught key techniques, including chest compressions, airway management, and resuscitation protocols, using advanced mannequins that simulated real-life scenarios.

Following the instructional sessions, attendees actively participated in practical exercises, honing their skills under expert supervision. The training culminated in a comprehensive assessment, where each candidate demonstrated their proficiency in performing BLS procedures. The initiative aimed to increase awareness and readiness among young medical professionals to handle critical situations confidently during their clinical practice.
