KARACHI: Bhitai Dental and Medical College, Mirpurkhas, Department of Student Affairs organized an event to mark World No Tobacco Day recently to warn students and public against health hazards of smoking.
This initiative was undertaken under the instructions of Managing Director Dr Ghulam Mustafa and Deputy Managing Director Dr Mushtaq Khan, with the guidance from Dean Prof Dr Atif Jawad, Principal Dr Permanand, Vice Principal Dr Ali Maqbool and Dr Shuja, as well as Chairman of the Curriculum Committee Prof Dr Atif Mahmood.
The event was hosted by Dr Muhammad Anique, In Charge of Student Affairs, and coordinated by
Dr Bisma Khizer.
BDS students from the Firstt to Final year created postcards and posters on the No Tobacco Day theme under the supervision of Dr Ambreen and Dr Muttia. The students also delivered awareness video messages with regard to the day and participated in an awareness walk alongside the BDMC management team, principal and faculty members.
Furthermore, the house surgeon spoke on the hazards of tobacco use, which can lead to various forms of cancer and other health issues.
