Prof. Lt. Gen. Dr Syed Azhar Ahmed, former Vice-Chancellor, Baqai Medical University passed away in the evening of March 21st, in the USA, where he was receiving treatment for his unstable health condition.
Dr Azhar was and continues to be a celebrated asset of Pakistan. He had been awarded with prestigious awards, inlcuding Hilal-e-Imtiaz and Sitara-e-Basalat, for his bold and heroic services in the military.
He was also awarded an honorary PhD by Baqai Medical University for his meritorious contributions in the field of Pathology spanning over half a century.
