KARACHI: The Community Dentistry Department of Sir Syed College of Medical Sciences (SSCMS) recently visited NJV Government Higher Secondary School, Karachi, to educate the children regarding oral health.
Dr Syed Ali Raza, Assistant Professor, SSCMS and Dr Zain Rauf Shamsi supervised this educational trip to Narayan Jagannath Vaidya (NJV) Government Higher Secondary School at MA Jinnah Road.
The visit aimed to screen school children and increase oral health awareness among them. In addition, it also sought to induce community interaction by dental graduates.
The community dentistry department highlighted the importance of regular dental check-ups and brushing teeth twice daily. Furthermore, 500 children underwent check-ups and diagnoses for oral hygiene.
Prof. HR Sukhia, Principal Dental College, SSCMS, appreciated the department in promoting dental education.
