ABBOTTABAD: The Community Dentistry Department, Abbottabad International Dental College (AIDC), recently arranged an Oral Health Awareness program in two schools of Abbottabad. The program facilitated almost 350 children.
Dr Qurat-Ul-Ain, Assistant Professor, Department of Community Dentistry, AIDC, directed this new startup of dental awareness among the school children of The Educators and Alam Academy School. The program was supervised by Dr Huma Tahir, Assistant Professor, Department of Community Dentistry, AIDC and Dr Faryal Khattak, Demonstrator, Department of Community Dentistry, AIDC. Dr Khola Basit, Demonstrator, Department of Community Dentistry, AIDC, coordinated the dental students for the awareness program. Dr Kinza Fatima, Dr Zainab Javaid and Dr Hussain Ahmad were also part of the team.
The dental team completed the oral screening among school children by following the SOPs of COVID 19. The dental students demonstrated to the school children the dental caries process by using models and colourful charts.
In the end, they conducted the quiz from school children and gave gifts to motivate them.
